Hi,

I have a Les Paul but I hate the trapezoid inlays. I would prefer none at all or small dots. How is it possible to remove them and not have to live with the holes? How difficult would inlaying rosewood or even clear plastic (glass?) be? Any ideas?

I'm no inlay expert, but it seems to me it would be easier to replace the entire fret board. You wouldn't do this to a collectible Les Paul.

Not to mention, but replacing the fingerboard will probably cost less than what you are suggesting....

No idea how they glue them in at the factory. You might cause a lot of damage around the edges by chiseling them out
I'd say sell the whole guitar and buy something with dot markers

Thanks for taking the time folks. Maybe I will just try not looking at them! Much easier.
